Work introduction
The title of the piece is a neologism that associates two German words Wahreit (truth) and Freiheit (freedom). The piece reflects the idea that there is no freedom without the search for truth, an indispensable condition for a fulfilled life.
Commissioned by the Dresdner Bläserphilharmonie, the piece is dedicated to its conductor, Andrea Barizza.
The score includes the original poster from the first performance realized by the artist Gustave De la Reine (courtesy of the artist).
