Work introduction
Petite Suite Française was composed in 2020 following a commission from the
Galician Cellists Association - SONCELLO, as one of the works to be performed
during its IV Soncello 2021 Competition held in the city of A Coruña.
Deliberately, and in the style of many of the surviving manuscripts of the period,
virtually no articulation indications are included in the score, leaving them entirely to
the choice of the performer, who must always bear in mind the usual stylistic canons
of each of the dances.
