The Dreaming is a concept from Australian Aboriginal cultures that relates to an ancient and sacred time, before the arrival of humans, when great supernatural beings ruled the Earth, creating the world as we know it today. This sonata was originally written in 2019 and subsequently revised in 2022, under the advice and supervision of Clara Mascaró and Eduards Vecbasticks, who also edited the violin version available from this same publisher. Each of the three movements is based on a deity or mythological character from the Aboriginal culture.
