Description
Clariphonos is a tripartite work, in which the principle of contrasts between successive parts is not respected. Thus, in the first part the small nuances dominate in a moderate movement, the second part remains in a slow tempo, only the third part bringing the strongly contrasting element. Homogeneous sounds but also unique timbral combinations obtained from the use of extended techniques, create sufficient contrast in the slow parts of the work. In the second part, a polystratification of the “oiseau” technique in the acute register creates a fresh sonic world, which combines with the mysterious sounds from the bass register of the instruments. The isorhythmic moments and the constant pulsation in an alert tempo ensure the contrast of the third part of the work.
