Description
After composing his Ballade de la Clarée, in 2011, Jean-Pierre Vial was objected that the ballade was too long. Therefore, he composed two shorter variants of the ballade.
The French words Ballade (a dance) and Balade (a walk) sound identically.
Because La Clarée is a river in a valley near Névache, France, where locals enjoy trekking, Jean-Pierre Vial named Ballade de la Haute Vallée de la Clarée (referring to the up-stream valley) this variant in major tone, and he named Ballade de la Basse Vallée de la Clarée (referring to the down-stream valley) the other variant in minor tone.
Ballade de la Clarée and both variants are published by Universal Edition.
