Description
Filìnia is a composition inspired by the Sicilian word for "spiderweb," evoking the intricate delicacy and complexity of interwoven threads. Musically, the piece explores a subtle and enveloping soundscape, with melodic lines that gradually intertwine, creating a suspended and mysterious atmosphere.
At the heart of the composition lies a reflection on how habits, though as delicate as silk threads, can transform into ropes that entangle us. This idea is expressed through gradual changes in dynamics and musical density, evoking the sensation of being caught in an invisible web.
Nietzsche's quote, "Everything that is habitual weaves around us a web of spider webs...," serves as the conceptual guide for the piece, inviting the listener to reflect on the tension between freedom and captivity, on the fragile boundary between what provides security and what ensnares. Filìnia invites us to perceive the subtle interplay of light and shadow hidden in daily gestures and the invisible threads of life.
