Description
On the occasion of Beethoven 250th anniversary, I explored the fourth movement of the Pastoral symphony, 'Gewitter, Stum', and I extracted a selection of pitches from it that became the groundwork of 'Blaen'.
I transformed the chosen material to depict my perception of a storm, with an emphasis on the stillness that occurs between two gusts.
Premiered by Elektra Ensemble during Tónlistarhátíð Rásar1 2020 / Radio 1 Music Festival at Harpa/ Norðurljós, Reykjavík, Iceland.
