Description
Dominus pascit me was written in 2023 at the request of the Magnificat Girls' Choir Budapest and their conductor Valéria Szebellédi. Its structure is quite complex: a calm, bucolic opening section in F major is followed by a troubled and dramatic middle section (illustrating the text 'The Valley of the Shadow of Death'). After a brief return of the main theme (now in D major), the work concludes, somewhat unexpectedly but not unusually from Gyöngyösi, with a virtuoso 'Alleluia'.
The work is recommended for professional or advanced amateur female choirs.
