Description
Verano Porteno also called as the Buenos Aires Summer was originally written by Astor Piazzolla in 1965. It was intended as music for Alberto Munoz’ play Melenita de oro. Being the first part of Estaciones Portenas - The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, the composition refers to the distinctive Argentinian tango but covered in Piazzolla’s characteristic musical language.
The arrangement we present is the first one made for guitar and piano ensemble. Walicki-Popiolek Duo tried to merge the original parts of Piazzolla’s Quintet, at the same time retaining the unique tone of guitar and piano.
