HEGE(HARMONIOUS SONG)
“He”Harmony is the human’s imagination of sound, and it is also the original form of the sheng. In ancient times, people felt the fusion of heaven and self by sounding the sheng reed, showing their awe of nature.In Guangxi, the antiphonal songs in the mountains, the stumbling dance, the wedding ceremony of the Miao Village, and the bright red rock paintings have evoked my memory of this ancient ceremony.
The whole work is inspired by Guangxi music. This is not a direct quotation. It is the motive of turning traditional music fragments such as Ba Yin, Liao Ge, Miao Sheng, etc. into "cellular", which runs through the combination and development of the whole work, thus obtaining new music sound.
Listen to harmony and folk songs in picturesque landscape. Everything is thriving.
The work has won first prize and the Most Popular Audience Award at the 23rd Weimar International Composition Competition in Germany.
