Humoricius carpathicus is dedicated to Delphine Gauthier-Guiche, who performed the piece for the first time on April 17, 2016, in an educational concert organized by Basel Simfonietta.
In a piece that puts the performer's technical resources to the test, Humoricius carpathicus includes a series of unconventional techniques - onomatopoeic effects that mimic the roar of a donkey, the song of birds, the mooing of a cow, the barking of a dog or the whinny of a horse. The score contains the suggestive drawings of Delphine Gauthier-Guiche, both an exceptional musician and an excellent painter.
