Description
This work was written on a special request from the highly unusual ensemble that premiered it, Contraband: Carla Rees - contrabass flute, Sarah Watts - contrabass clarinet, and Ashley Myall - contrabassoon. The concert (perhaps the lowest in history), which took place in London, June 21, 2018, was entitled, "Meet the Contras." The sheer sonority was beyond belief. While Impulsion can also be performed with bass flute, bass clarinet, and bassoon, the lower instruments are preferred.
