Description
Work composed in July 2006 and awarded in the same year with the International Prize "Francisco Guerrero Martín” at the 'XVII Premio Jóvenes Compositores' promoted by the 'Fundación-Autor', 'Sociedade General de Autores y Editores' (SgAe) and by the "Centro para la Difusión de la Música Contemporánea (CDMC)" in Madrid, Spain.
MATIZES is a kind of sound painting where the continuous gradations of “colors” and sonorities, fruit of the soloist-instrumental group dialogue, prioritize not the linear development of the initial material, but place the listener in front of a series of transmutations of the sound material throughout from music. The work is dedicated especially to the Brazilian flutist Beatriz Magalhães Castro.
