Description
Omagiu lui George Enescu is based on an older work, Hommage à George Enescu for violin solo, composed in 2011. There are musical references to melodic structures used by Enescu in some of his works and a short quotation from his String Quartet no. 2, the second part. Enescu’s name is musically encrypted, being the main melodic figure that appears several times during the piece.
Omagiu lui George Enescu was performed for the first time by Cristina Malancioiu and Victor Andrei Parau on June 20, 2018 at Lugoj.
