These pieces are most often the fixation on paper of mature improvisations, worked on for months, even years. Some are commissions for educational purposes. I have used them all with my students as part of my teaching of JAZZ piano.
This is not just another method but a collection from which everyone can draw a piece to work on this or that style, always in a musical and motivating way.
Deliberately, everything that makes the salt of a JAZZ interpretation has been noted precisely.
However, each piece will allow those who wish to deviate from the written version and integrate their own improvisations.
