Description
In 2006 I started the first of three projects along the Drava: "Drau/Drava - Old River and New Sounds". Musicians from almost all the "Drava countries" formed the Drava/Drava Ensemble - a temporary ensemble that went on a concert tour along the Drava from Dobbiaco to Osijek and Aljmaš with a programme written especially for this project. The composition of the ensemble did not follow line-up logic, but rather the desire to form a multinational ensemble in the truest sense of the word from as many regions along the Drava as possible. This resulted in an extravagant cast - unique, one-of-a-kind and fascinating. "Rinnsale" is my highly motivated contribution to this project, not least because of the extraordinary instrumentation. "Rinnsale" consists of small and larger musical "sources" that gradually come together to form a river and then finally disappear again as if in a river delta.
