Description
„The Harlequin´s Carnival“ received Honourable Mention at the International Composition
Competition „Creative Composers 2018“ (Italy) and also was placed on the „Jury Recommended
List of Works“ at the International Uuno Klami Composition Competition 2019 (Finland)
„The Harlequin´s Carnival“ was also awarded the "Diamond Prize“ at the Carl Reinecke International
Music Competition 2024 (Great Britain)
The inspiration for this musical composition is the well-known surrealist painting "The Harlequin's
Carnival" by the spanish painter Joan Miró. This piece for solo violin and orchestra is designed for
advanced violinists. It is a rich presentation of the wide technical and expressive possibilities of playing the
violin. The soloist together with the orchestra have the opportunity to convincingly demonstrate their
technical and artistic qualities and cause the watching listeners not only to enjoy the music, but also to
think about the meaning of everything around us.
