Description
This work for the uncommon pairing of cello and trumpet explores various aspects of the blues idiom. The first movement is a slow, film noir-inspired movement, which evoke images of smoky bars and foggy streets. The fast second movement is a modern adaptation of the 12-bar blues form. After a short, solo trumpet introduction, the final movement exhibits a catchy, melancholy tune for both instruments.
