Work introduction
Satoru Ikeda orchestrated Debussy's piano piece "The Snow is Dancing" as a model for his composition class in 2023. The image of the piece that Ikeda tried to capture is as follows: a pristine snowy landscape, powdery snow swirling in the sky in every direction, the wind roaring, and branches breaking under the weight of the snow.
"The Snow is Dancing" for orchestra is found on CD: LVIV 2 [Phasma-Music 087]
Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Volodymyr Syvokhip
