Work introduction
The inspiration of this work is drawn from Paul Klee’s watercolour painting under the same title.
I personally regard this music as my interpretation of Paul Klee’s work of art.
The duality of ideas delineated in the painting, such as straight lines versus curves, coldness versus warmth, lightness versus darkness as well as foreground versus background, serves as my point of departure for formulating various musical events in this work.
This work is thus a depiction of my musical journey through this Cold City.
