Work introduction
In 2014, I was commissioned by Kim Bartlett (singer and singing teacher from Münchenstein, Basel) to compose a piece for female choir (ensemble) and piano accompaniment, which was then premiered at an Advent concert in the Dornach monastery. In keeping with the context of the performance, I took the Latin text of Da Dona Nobis Pacem and wrote a short choral composition that can be accompanied by both piano and organ. The music emphasises the hope appealed to by the text and the search for peace through harmonic tensions that are ultimately resolved.
