Work introduction
The original version, for clarinet and guitar, was composed in 1997 for the composer’s cousins, clarinetist Richard Lesser and guitarist Jordan Charnofsky. Versions for flute/alto flute & guitar and for oboe/english horn & guitar were added in 2009. In 2015, the first two movements were adapted for violin and viola. Finally in 2018, three of the dances were transcribed for two guitars.
