Composer's Notes
The piano piece Eine kleine Geschichte was composed during a short stay in a castle in the south of France. It is a short piece that is part of a series of compositions with very personal musical notes. Like in a diary, I describe my perception of concrete moments of nature or the surrounding with notes.
The piece begins with a melody, which it repeats continuously until the end. After the second repetition, further elements are added. The main melody remains a tempo like a pillar on which something new is painted without changing the main element, but rather decorating it. The idea is to add ornaments, that give new impressions again and again. The piece should be played in a flowing continuity. The performer chooses the exact tempo in such a way that the story gets a natural narrating flow.
I later dedicated this piece to my teacher Hartmut Fladt to his 60st birthday.
