Work introduction
This work for baritone and orchestra is commissioned by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Catalonia for the closing concert of the 2023/2024 season.
The work revisits the last period of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, specifically, through the piece 'La lugubre gondola nº1" (1882) for piano but adapted for voice and orchestra with text by the catalan baroque poet Agustí Eura (1684-1763).
