Girra
Duration: 4'
Solos:
piano
Girra is a Babylonian fire god. He is one of the gods of the
night and is referred to as the "wild Girra" or the "wild warrior".
When he is kind, he frees people controlled by evil powers
from their enchantment. Since, in addition to the element of water,
fire also has the purifying power, he confronts demons and witches under the name Girra, Gibil or
Nusku and burns their images.
When angry, however, he also brings devastation, death and destruction through
fires.
The composition systematically follows the pluralistic principle and
combines different stylistic elements of traditional tonality,
quartal harmony and cluster layers into a coexistent
foundation.
