Work introduction
This intermezzo for tenor saxophone and piano was inspired by the beautiful and extremely specific quality of twilight (Halvdager) in Sweden. It is a wondrous moment of the day, when the remains of the day create an extreme contrast that disappears as quickly as it came.
It is this transcendent, but also fleeting atmosphere that I have tried to convey in this work.
