Work introduction
The work La Nimfa (from the Catalan: The Nymph) is a fantasy for cello and piano in a single movement composed by Oriol Cruixent, conceived as a colorful dreamlike journey structured in three scenes (rehearsal marks C, E and F) and an introduction and coda acting as narrator (rehearsal marks A and I).
La Nimfa was finished in November 1999 and premiered on 29th February 2000 in the Great Concert Hall of the HfM in Munich (Germany) by Florian Bachmann on cello and the composer himself on piano.
