Work introduction
Lacrimosa was written in the memory of Petru Maier Bianu on a theme by W. A. Mozart, being dedicated to Marius Ungureanu and Costin Soare. The piece was presented for the first time at the International GUITAR NIGHTS Festival at the George Enescu National Museum on November 1, 2018.
The well-known Mozartian theme has a continuous change of context throughout the piece, expressing feelings of deep sadness, intense pain, but evolving towards a state of serene acceptance, at the end of the work.
