Work introduction
"Linking Pins" for piano trio was composed around the turn of the year 2013/2014 for a concert at the end of January 2014.
The title of the composition refers to a principle that was developed in the early 1960s by the empirical social researcher Rensis Likert: the linking-pin model. This is based on the consideration that in organizations work is done in working groups. This results in overlapping teams that cover the organization with a network of groups; a principle that has been fully realized in the present.
A composer also arranges his ideas in such a way that overlapping "groups" (of tones, rhythms, harmonies, instruments, etc...) are created. According to the word meaning "componere", I see the "linking pin model" as a related concept.
