Work introduction
Mandorion is structured in two contrasting parts, the airy writing of the first part being opposed to the energetic movement of the second part. If in the first part of the piece the low nuances predominate, in the second part the unexpected dynamic contrasts and the accentuated rhythmic formulas are often encountered. Mandorion was dedicated to Susanne Herre. The piece was played for the first time by Kyoko Sako in the Gohki Endo Museum in Kyoto on August 25, 2018.
