Marimba Moksha is a Divertimento for Marimba solo (5 octaves) structured in ternary form. The magical character of the middle section of Marimba Moksha is built upon the musical atmosphere of African indigenous tribal peoples. The composition is build upon musical material inspired by the counterpoint and melodic folklore of the Balkans. The leitmotif of the work is a constant characteristic rhythmic ambient inspired by the Brazilian dance Baião.
Marimba Moksha was written in May 2012 for the German/Bulgarian percussionist Vivi Vassileva and dedicated to her.
