Work introduction
The work was written in 2002 especially for the 2nd Sacred Music Festival in Patmos.
It was premiered on September 7, 2002 at the open air theater in front of the Holy Cave of the Apocalypse by 8 cellists of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.
The composition is divided into 3 sections.
It begins calmly, in an introverted mood and atmosphere. A turbulent middle part follows, with intense motion in all 8 instruments, like an anguished plea. After a unison of all the instruments on the note C follows the third part of the composition and the work moves towards its calm and peaceful end.
