Work introduction
The idea to compose a horn quartet "Resonanzen" came to me when I read an article in a magazine about the resonance frequencies of various canals in Venice. These were graphic representations of these resonant frequencies, with all the overtones and undertones, and I realised that these diverse sounds have a very great musical potential for realising tonal-musical ideas from them.
I composed seven movements
No.1 Canale di Cannareggio
No.2 Rio de S.Alvise-Riformati
No.3 Rio Misericordia
No.4 Rio San Felice
No.5 Rio San Girolame-Ormesini
No.6 Rio della Sensa
No.6 Rio Madonna de l'Orto
The premiere was performed by the "Dauprat Hornquartett" in an old church near Lugano with great acoustics and shortly afterwards the quartet recorded a CD with “Resonanzen”.
