Work introduction
The piece is inspired by a poem belonging to Mihai Eminescu. It can be structured in two musical sections, being written for three voices, with the participation of a soloist who recites the text. With sound trajectories reminiscent of Byzantine melody, each section culminates on a bright D major chord. In order to keep the text easily recognizable and in accord with the Byzantine tradition, the main melodic line is supported by changing drones. It is dedicated to Cantanti Choir.
