Work introduction
My vision with the songs is to show a broad selection of what life in the North-East is like, showing off our older songs and older poetry, while combining it with more contemporary themes. Showing this shift from concerns about local issues to much grander considerations of life.
The pairing of paul summers, Tommy Armstrong, Tony Benn, and the famous traditional song 'When the Boat Comes in' shows the North-East is not some remote and backwards region, but something with a sense of pride and culture that can only exist here, which is ultimately worth celebrating
