Scherzino Diminuito
Duration: 5'

"Since Ludwig van Beethoven, Scherzi are not simply jokes. They can be fierce, evil, playful, dreamy. The Scherzino Diminuito: sounds light, but is the result of hard work. A little joke that is devilishly hard to play. The only thing diminished here is the length: just as suddenly as the piece began, it is over again. The melodic material can also be described as diminishing, since this is the term for the applied scales, which are employed in apparently light music as well as in so-called serious music."
Tillmann Böttcher
Scherzino Diminuito was composed for the virtuso hungarian violinist, Edua Zadory who recorded it as a world premiere for her CD Heavy published by Genuin.
The piece was qualified and performed at the final round of the 1st Chalki International Composition Competition in Greece, 2020.
