Work introduction
Semnale peripatetice is traversed by a constant march, which suggests the idea of an indifferent flow of time - a ruthless mechanism, similar to a metronome. The soprano uses words taken from the Aphorisms of Heraclitus, in ancient Greek. The relentless nature of the passage of time, based on a steady pulsation, is counterbalanced by the use of a quote from Antonin Dvorák's creation, the melodic part of the lied Mne zdálo se žes umrela. The final part of the work will bring the presentation of the harmonic support of this song, in a diaphanous atmosphere.
Semnale peripatetice was performed for the first time on July 14, 2017 by the ATEM Ensemble during the Peripatetic Conferences that take place annually at the Mihai Eminescu Theater in Oravita.
