Work introduction
This work is “… very difficult (an indirect and perhaps somewhat
shameless homage to Paganini’s Capriccios),
relentlessly repeating, developing and transforming the basic harmony. It is an
étude of form, of repetition, the correlation of patterns which frequently
recur and some which appear only once. The piece is predominantly about
harmonic structures – yet it ends with the unexpected and amazing formation of
