Work introduction
I wrote this arrangement of three Hungarian Christmas carols for my children at Christmas 2016, originally for voice and piano. The vocal parts were played with great enthusiasm by my children also on their instruments at the time. 1 year later in 2017, I added 2 more solos to the arrangements to match their musical development on instruments. Since then, we have enjoyed playing these arrangements at home and at music school student concerts during the Christmas time.
Instrumentation possibilities
The arrangement of the 3 clarinets (e.g. clarinet 1 only, or clarinets 2 and 3 only, etc.) can be varied as desired. The degree of difficulty is the same as for the part assignments:
Clarinet 1: for beginners. Playable from the 1st year of school.
Clarinet 2: for beginners and intermediate players. Playable from the 2nd or 3rdyear of school.
Clarinet 3: for beginners and intermediate students. Playable from 3rd or 4th year of school.
The piano part is written for advanced players.
With these arrangements, beginner instrumental students have the opportunity to play together with advanced students and their teachers, professional musicians.
