Un Magnetar... Magnetische Episoden is a concertante work for solo clarinet and ensemble inspired by the poem überfliessende Himmel by the Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke that I discovered in a Dresden bookstore. A Magnetar is a variety of pulsar whose main characteristic is the expulsion of energy, a dynamism that applied to music contaminates the rest of the instrumentalists in a kind of space travel in 8 continuous movements whose driving force is the concertante virtuosity of Jörg Widmann.
