Work introduction
Yagé, also known as Ayahuasca is an indigenous drink utilized in traditional South American medicine by many Amazonian peoples in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and Venezuela and is used largely as a treasured aid to spiritual practice.
Oriol Cruixent conceived Yagé as a "daydream" for Percussion and Guitar inspired by rhythms used on indigenous spiritual ceremonies.
Yagé was written in July 2020 for the German/Bulgarian percussionist Vivi Vassileva and the Brazilian guitarist Lucas Campara Diniz, and was dedicated to them.
