Description
The composer composed the mixed choir work O Sapientia at the request of the Csíkszerda Choir and their choirmaster, Árpád Tóth, in 2021. Its text is an Old Antiphon on wisdom. These texts are recited in the Roman Catholic liturgy during the Advent season (17-23 December).
Its structure is modelled on a miniature sonata form: after an exposition in B-flat major, a troubled elaboration in B minor leads to the climax, the return of the main theme, now in C major, and then the work concludes with an intimate coda.
The work is recommended for professional or advanced amateur mixed choirs.
