Work introduction
I wrote this Piano Trio inspired by the historical event when Perry, the American Admiral visited Japan in 1853 with a fleet of black warships and demanded the Tokugawa Shogunate to open the country. I wanted to express the people's feelings who were broken from their quiet lives by their sudden visit.
I use a flute and piano instead of the Japanes Bamboo Fluite and Japanese Koto Strings.
What is necessary to perform this work?
Playing a flute part imaginning a Japanese Bamboo Flute, and playing piano part imagining a Japanese Koto Strings for the main theme will be helpful to understand this music.
