Work introduction
Ara was dedicated to the Armenian duduk player Arsen Petrosyan, being written under the impression of the protests against the Rosia Montana Project. Inspired by traditional music, the work combines the rhythmic elements given to the percussion, with ample melodic lines that define the unmistakable sound of the duduk. The percussionists, in a continuous dialogue, enrich the sonority of the instruments by using the voice, in a sonic accumulation that reaches a culmination moment at the end of the work.
