Work introduction
This piece is taken from "The Annunciation », the 1st painting from « Il y a 2000 ans, Jésus de Nazareth…», a large fresco on the life of Jesus for choir, orchestra, soloists and narrator, commissioned by the city of Saint- Raphaël (Var -France) created at Christmas 2000.
This AVE MARIA, for 4-voice mixed choir can be performed in 3 different ways:
1) a capella (good level choir)
2) with organ or piano accompaniment (this version)
3) with orchestra (version edited separately)
The piece is in 3 parts, a fairly dynamic central fugue in 4 voices being framed by a more restrained, more interior part, with permanent exchanges between the 4 voices.
This AVE MARIA can be integrated into a religious service as well as into a concert program.
