Work introduction
Threnoi for chamber ensemble is based on three clearly defined sound masses in charge of the three instrumental groups: wind, string and piano. These masses alternate between two large sections in tutti with a pointillist style that is recreated in a motivic, rhythmic and timbral relationship. Finally, the three sound masses overlap and the work is finished off with a cadence for solo violin.
