Work introduction
Originally commissioned by the Montfort Choir of Chiangmai in Northern Thailand, this setting used a translation of the "Ave Maria" text into the Northern Thai dialect done by one of the local Catholic ladies. The composer has also done a version with the normal Latin text. Written for a boys' choir with harp, the work can also be done with piano, or with a women's choir.
What is necessary to perform this work?
The accompaniment is designed for harp, but can be done with piano. Women's voices, or soloists, can also be used. The preferred coloring however would be for young voices with little vibrato.
